Hopewell Cemetery Story
Hopewell Cemetery is a community cemetery established in 1854 which is a ~4-acre active community cemetery with over 800+ gravesites including 100+ Veterans from various wars and military services; in 1907, the original Hopewell Community became known as Tyrone with the arrival of the railroad (Town of Tyrone established in 1911).

May 2023 Hopewell Cemetery property ownership transferred from Hopewell United Methodist Church to Hopewell Cemetery, Inc.

Hopewell Cemetery, Inc is a nonprofit tax-exempt organization under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) public organization which consists of outstanding dedicated volunteers including our volunteer board of director members.
Our vision/mission is to build a partnership between the cemetery and community for the Hopewell Cemetery upkeep, maintenance, perpetual care, preservation, and operations.
